Hi One and all...
I am new to Tokyo and have been getting to know th eropes a little.
The driving ranges are great, and the courses are fine, but what I find very strange is the total apparent abscence of chipping and putting facilities. Some courses dont even have a chipping ground?

How are you supposed to maintain your short game? I am at the point of going out to the park and doing some chipping out there, even though I have been told that is not allowed... !! Desperate measures!

Has anyone got any advice to stop me from gettng arrested?

It's tough! There are a few driving ranges that have short game facilities but sadly most of them don't. Are you near a riverside? The kind that has loads of baseball pitches? Usually, you can get away with doing short game practice there.

Some courses have good chipping and bunker areas. Aqualine in Chiba springs to mind.

Another option is "short courses" where holes are around 80-150 yards long.

Look around your area or ask at the local driving range.
