I thought I'd move this thread from the chat section now that we have a separate score tracker forum. It makes more sense to have it in here.
Have a great day on the links? Had a shocker filled with 6-putts and OB's?
Post in here for some virtual pats on the back or for exorcising golf demons.![]()

Played on Tuesday and shot 41-41, which made me feel pretty good.
But..... Finished with a triple bogey on a relatively easy par 5 after shooting 2-over for the first eight holes on the back nine.
I'd hate this game if I didn't love it so much.![]()
Had a great day at the Stableford comp @ Windsor Park. Amazingly, it never rained at all during the round
Shot 87
45 Out
42 In
31 Putts
33 stableford points
Shaved the hole with 4 or 5 long putts that might have dropped on another day.
And a whopping 8 penalty strokes on the cardBut hit some superb iron shots which helped keep my score down.

Played the Windsor Monthly Comp. in a group with Ping and Kento.... good fun. It was foggy most of the day and it started to rain lightly on the last few holes. The rounds was a bit of a mixed bag.
- Mostly solid off the tee with my 3-wood and then finally took out the driver the last few holes. But did have 2 off the tee escape me.
- Even with good 3-wood shots on the fairway I really struggled getting on the green with my approach shots on the Par-4s, spraying a few into OB, water or bunkers... everything except greens.
- From around the green I was ok, and putting was nothing special.
So the finally tally was 102 (54in / 48out / 36 putts.)...... the memory of the 87 is fading fast.![]()
You must've got lucky with the weather. It was pelting it down in Tokyo in the afternoon. Would not have been pleasant playing in that![]()
WP yesterday, in the rain. Good and bad. Had a 91 so 3 over, but I was 11 over for the par 5's. Had 7 pars and a birdie, it was just those *&%$#@* par 5s. Hit 9 of 14 fairways, with only one pulled drive, so that was good. Hit some really crisp hybrids, especially 4 and 5 hybrids and had 33 putts including 3x3 putts.
Enjoyed playing with Kento and Frank, including doing some filming of our swings, which has given me a few things to work on.
Finally, the trip home, except for the rain, was 2 hours with no traffic jam.
Cheers

Looks everybody very good at.
Last Saturday, I went Kazusa Monarch CC in Kimitsu-city.
Nice and really expensive course.
Very foggy and rain all day but not heavy.
44 +49 = 94
But No excuse. My target is under 90.
Kondo.
Played over the weekend and really got lucky with the weather. Stayed dry all 54 holes, 2 1/2 courses. I've been working on some improvements and got some more tips on Sunday. So I'm going though some adjustment pains. Even though it didn't reflect fully in my total score I had a great 9 on each day which continues to give me hope!
Saturday: Played at Karasuyamajo, very challenging course, with 3 nines, designed by one of the famous Japanese architects, Seiichi Inoue. If you can't place the ball from the tee you are going to have a difficult time trying to score. Zig-zaging fairways and sloping greens can make playing this course a bit of a chore. But if you are up to the task and bring your game you will love this course. Facilities were nice, which included a nice driving range, and lunch was typical Japanese fare. We stayed overnight in a cottage which was large and had an individual onsen bath. However it was a bit old school, Japanese style. At about 20K the round of golf, lunch, yakiniku set dinner, overnight stay, with breakfast makes the trip up to Tochigi from Tokyo worth it.
We were fortunate to play all 3 nines. From the blue tees I shot a 103 (51/52 ) with 37 putts, and a 44 with 16 putts. Not much was working that day until the last nine when I started to hit some fairways.
Sunday: Played the Tochigi Tournament, at Biwaike Golf Club organized by Star 7 group posted by Japundit. Great course, straight forward layout and very picturesque. The big challenge was the greens. The greens were a bit different between front and back. At the back, which we played first were set at "Pro" speeds making them quicker and firmer than everything I ever played before. On the front the greens were much slower, riddled with pitch marks and (thankfully) much slower.
For the tournament I shot a 97 (54 in/43 out), 39 putts from the whites.
All-in-all, a great weekend, a lot of fun, happy with my scores.
What did you shoot???? Am I the only one that played over the weekend?![]()

Hi Frank,
Sounds like a great weekend.
Saving all my energy for Nikko on Sunday

Played 27 holes at a course here in Kansai called Mecha. 41/41/43 Last nine holes from the tips. Birdied #1/#9/#10/#27. One blow up hole (#6) where I couldn't get out of a trap that hadn't been raked by a group ahead of us. Other than that - awesome day. Perfect weather, just a good friend of mine and me went around first 18 in 4 hours 20 minutes (only 20 minute break) another 15 minutes break and third nine in 2 and a half hours. Total price including a hot dog and a beer at the turn......11,000 yen!!! Owner is a friend of mine ;) Also got a discount ticket for next time (8000 weekday.) Free member's card giving me preferred tee times and a handicap.

It really is a cool place. The owner, Sato-san, is very westernized and runs the course that way. There is a full restaurant in the clubhouse of course, but we grabbed a hot dog at the Four Quarter Cafe at the turn, just like back in Canada.More golf less wait, the way golf should be played. If the course is as good as the website looks it must be great place to play and eat!
The fairways on a few holes suffered a bit from excessive rain early in the season and are a bit patchy in places, but the greens are great. When I played there in midsummer a couple of years ago it was really nice, so I'm sure it will shape up. It doesn't have much of a driving range unfortunately (one of those 30 yard net deals) but it is one of the few places where you can practice chipping onto the practice green. Carts all have GPS, but they are self-driving, which I don't care for. Standard weekday rate is 10000, but there's a 2000 bump if you are playing as a twosome. the standard 9-hole rate is 5000. So, I only paid 10000 instead of 17000. A very excellent deal! It helps that he is an alumnist of the high school where I teach part time and that I taught his son for a year;)
If you are ever out this way, let me know and I'll hook us up!

Hi Bilingul
I think you are from Canada.
I played Vancouver on Friday in May. It was public course. LANGALA in Vancouver city. I went with bus from hotel, not car.
I had shoes,clubs and ball. I rent club-set and pull-car.
I think it was 80 Canada dollars all, including some hotdogs.
You have nice course in city area and welcomed good.
I liked it.

Shot 88 at Niseko Golf Course yesterday from the blue tees.
Out 45
in 43
37 putts
2 silly club selections ended in triple bogies and just didn't get any luck on the greens.
Highlight of the day: A 2-putt birdie on the Par 5 11th![]()
Thanks
Although, one of the triple bogies was caused by trying to get on in 2 on much tougher par 5 - anything left or right of the green was OB. Hit the right distance but it faded (sliced) into the woods. A more conservative strategy on both holes would've been better for the score.
Having said that, having a putt for eagle and tapping in for a birdie is always nice![]()

Glad you liked Canada. We have a lot of golf courses!!
Here is a list of the countries with the most golf courses per capita (per person)
Scotland
New Zealand
Australia
Republic of Ireland
Northern Ireland
Canada
Wales
United States
Sweden
England
So, even though we can't play all year long, we are crazy for golf!!
Let's play together some time!
Brian
Hi ! Brian
I, we are chasing one project in Canada, so I visited 3 times this year and now I found that you have many nice and beautiful course.
When I go business trip, I always carry shoes, gloves, balls at bottom of baggage, so that I can play anytime when I have free time.
Anytime, they welcome sudden visitors.
I played at several foreign countries, but Canada seems one of top.
Hope to meet you on GREEN.

Shot a disappointing 86 yesterday at Nikko Golf Park Harel. I know the course well and should have scored better
Out 46
In 40
35 Putts
6 penalty strokes.
Just started working on some changes to my set up and swing so was pretty erratic most of the day - it's going to take a while to find my new rhythm I think
Highlight of the day: Hit OB from the tee on the par 5 13th - then played my 4th shot from the yellow markers - nailed a 5 wood 220 yards to the centre of the green and then holed a 20 footer to save par
An eagle if you don't count the 2 penalty strokes![]()
