The inaugural B&G Cup
If you ever find yourself organizing a golf outing, there’s always one main issue which can give you sleepless nights - the potential for bad weather on the day of the event.
And I should probably thank all the meteorologists out there who only forecasted light rain in the afternoon. Had they actually got it right and predicted a deluge for most of the day then this event might not have gone ahead as planned.
Despite some horrendously nasty weather, this was a top event and although we all got severely drenched especially on the 2nd nine, everyone got into the spirit of things and played in some of the worst golfing weather they’ve probably ever experienced.
Trying to putt through huge puddles is not easy![]()
And for many, this was their first time to play in a Texas Scramble and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. It actually turned out to be the perfect format because the playing conditions got very tough out there:
Texas Scramble = Mulligans aplenty =
36 players (18 teams of 2) were challenging for the B&G Cup and here are the results of the Texas Scramble:

Thank you for all! I enjoyed playing a lot. Grant and Laura, Otsukaresama!
And I appreciate Mr.Fillipe and Haruko-san's cooperation. I'm sorry not be able to attend the party. I'm looking forward to visit your restaurant someday.
Thank you Mike! I think we could do our best. However, I can't see any award for 6th place. My eyes must be playing trick on me?![]()

I think the greenkeeper must have had a fewon Friday night.....major duck hook required to hit the fairway
Par 3 17th
4th hole (Fairway is where?? Oh, and don't slice it!)
And the weather gets really nasty (Can hardly see the fairway)
@ Granto - what fairway???![]()
Great pics, thanks for posting!
Some challenging holes, the combination of water hazards and narrow fairways really made you play a different game altogether. I also found myself asking where the fairway was!![]()
Also, putting into a cup full of water reminded me of the Caddyshack storm scene..
More photos - Thanks Laura
