DO NOT PLAY! |
Date: 31/03/2011 Reviewed by: Granto
Date played: March 31, 2011
Played this course for the first time yesterday. The Hon course has 3 nines (East, West and
South)and we played all of them.
Course design: This is a very mountainous course with some serious elevation changes. There are a
lot of fun and challenging holes but novices might find it hard going here.
Maintanence: The condition of this course is pretty poor in my opinion. Apparently, it's one of
Accordia's busiest courses (5000 members...lol) so must be raking in the cash but they obviously
aren't putting much of that into upkeep. Weeds on a lot of the fairways. The wild bores have been
having a field-day and there was one short par 4 that had more G.U.R than fairway.
They have a dual green system on a majority of the holes and the greens we played were mostly in bad
shape. I'm no expert but it looked like they had 2 or 3 types of grass growing in amongst patchesof
weed.
Bunkers: A thin topcoat of light gravel with hard mud underneath and they're even in the process of
getting rid of some bunkers on a couple of holes (more ugly G.U.R) Sand must be getting very
expensive these days....
A great shame really as it's a very good mountain course.
I really hope this is just an "early in the season" issue but sadly I don't think it is.To me,it
looks like this course hasn't had proper TLC in a long time....Shame on you Accordia....
