Thread: Outing @ Tsurumai CC East Course (Chiba)

Hi guys,

Looking for players interested to try Tsurumai CC in Chiba on Monday 29 August. This golf course is usually 18,000 yen on weekdays & 30,000 yen on weekends but certain weekdays are deemed special "Self-Play" days that only cost 10,000 yen with lunch included. There is additional 1,000 yen charge if we only form a 2-ball, so at least a 3-ball is preferred.

Tsurumai CC - East Course hosted the Japan LPGA Cyber Agent 2011 tournament & it looks like a nice course. Access by train is easy as there is a shuttle bus pickup from Goi station at 8:20 which arrives at clubhouse at 9:00, in time for our 9:34 tee-time.

Played here a while ago, one of the best courses in Chiba and a really good challenge. We also played on a self-play day and it is really good value for money.

What a great course. The fairways were incredible, the rough was real rough and you had the opportunity to play back onto the fairway after a wayward shot. No stupid one shot penalties or OB in the middle of the course.

The greens were a little soft, so they marked easily, but apart from that if you can book the self-play day, which may be the last Monday of every month, take it. IMO it's worth more than the 10,000 yen we paid.

I have seen them play the LPGA event on TV at this course, but the 17th is tougher than it looks on TV. Just about every hole was about placement of your tee-shot.

I also would like to join you in thanking Yihan for setting up this date. I have played there now twice and will continue to play there is I have the opportunity, but have other courses that are far higher on my list for playing or replaying (e.g., Oak Village in Chiba) Tsurumai has two greens per hole, and they will be switching to fresh greens on 1 Sept. which is good news since they were in simply terrible shape yesterday, very, very soft and very, very bumpy. Our group hit many putts short of the hole as a result. Nonetheless it was a fun day.

Agree, the green's condition was somewhat depressing.
