Saw this thread a while ago on an American site and thought it would be good for this site.
We all know what it's like to play a good game or even a bad game. You get home, but the wife or girlfriend doesn't want to know about it. What you can do is get on here and report about your round, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Let other members rejoice with you or feel your pain.
So, what did you shoot today?
Myself in the foot ...
Oh and 13 on 18 at WP a few weeks back ... But that's a secret!![]()
89 at Kanozan CC
48 Out 41 In - 34 putts
1 Birdie
Playing the 4 par 5's in 8 over killed my score
Only 6000 yards so should've done a lot better.![]()
Windsor Park - December 13th - Blue tees
Overcast before clearing, a balmy 14 degrees
What I shot on the scorecard: 95 - no complaints
What I putted: 43 - no comment
What I shot with my irons: darts, just magical to watch
What I wanna shoot: my putter right through head
But more important than all of that is that I had a great day out with a lot of great guys in great weather on a beautiful golf course.
Thanks Grant for organising it, Mark & Peter for the company for the round. All the best to everyone for Christmas & New Years.

Yeah, it was a lot of fun!
Shot 87 (44 out 43 in)
34 putts again
Developed a bout of the mental brain farts which caused me to stuff up about half of my long/mid iron shots. Saved by some laser-like accuracy with the pitching wedge
Not happy with my putting (sorry Matt!) Should've holed more than I did....I think it's time the Scotty Cameron made a come back![]()
You guys were going to play stableford. Dis it make the scores look any better?
The winner, who incidentally also doubled as the days organiser, scored 34 points if I remember correctly, so it wasn't a runaway victory.
Good fun playing stableford though. Gives everyone a chance, and you can throw a few away without trainwrecking your round.
I was robbed!!! Lot of fun. Great that no one ran away with it, it came down to the wire. If I didn't 4 putt twice in the back I could have taken all the glory. Thankfully the front was kind to me and gave me a fighting chance.
Yes, it was in your grasp until the last![]()

Sounds like you had a good time. Stableford really is a good way to play competition, if everybody has a handicap. You can recover from a few bad holes, unlike stroke events.
Maybe, Jim might consider putting a few comps on using this or even some other formats. I'm sure the Japanese members would enjoy some variety.

Hi guys,
Thanks for a great day out. We done Grant
on the win.
Frank thanks for the tips - they should come in handy
Woy-Woy - thanks for the lift home, even though I felt like awith the hello kitty swinging around.
Looking forward to the next one - Am very interested in doing something over the New Year as I am stuck here![]()
Hey Taff, appreciate the props, hope you put the tips to good use. Available for further instruction at reasonable rates.![]()
Played in the Sunday Stableford comp this morning. 21 points for the front nine, then the wind came up and blew my game away. 11 points including 2 misses and three 1 pointers.
So 32 points and 7 over off the stick.
Next comp on Tuesday. Hopefully no wind.
No 6-putts to report?![]()
No, 2 three putts. The new putter and wedge did OK. Did hit the same tree twice trying the impossible out of a fairway bunker and ended up back in the same bunker each time.![]()
Tuesday Stableford was worse than Sunday.
15 points each nine for 30 points. Played army golf all morning.![]()

played at Noda public course on Sat. 20 http://www.nodapg.or.jp/keyaki/
The holes were all short (Grant might even be able to drive to the green on some holes) with the only interesting hole the 16. Most of the greens were pretty tough as the holes were placed on the top of a ridge, hit it too hard and you are gonna go way past the hole, Woy-Woy would have a heart attack.
The cost was 13,500 yen, which is pretty cheap. A good course if you do not want to travel too far, but most of the holes are forgettable.
Oh and I shot a personal best of 117 - thanks to Franks tips!![]()
It was bloody hot today in Australia. Played the Sunday stableford club comp. Had a shocker on the front but played well on the back.
13 points front, 21 points back for a 34. Only a couple over par.
Had 32 putts, including a 4 putt on the 9th which has the smallest green.Still a few short of a 6 putt.

34's not bad.
At least you're getting plenty of golf in Oz![]()
Played a Par event today. It's the first time I've played this type of comp in years.
Shot -5 which is not good and lost 5 balls on a course I would generally lose 2balls on a really bad day.
Good news was I only had 31 putts, including a 3 putt, and I chipped well.
It was really hot. Can't wait to play in the cold next week.![]()
91 at WP yesterday. (34 putts)
44 Out (14 putts - 2 birdies, no pars)
47 In (20 putts - only 2 pars)
My ball had a magnetic attraction to bunkers yesterday. In 7 times and plugged 3 of those!
Birdied #4 and #8
The Scotty Cameron was on fire on the front nine but let me down on the back![]()
Scored a century at WP on Friday.![]()
57, 44 for 101!
Managed 10 Stableford points the front with a might 7-a-2 on 9 to get me out of single figures.
Back nine had 23 points but didn't play that well got away with some bad shots.
A lot of fun Grant, thanks for your patience with my son. Got a good laugh where he had six putts from 6 feet back and forth and left you scratching your head if your head broke left or right.
I think the Scotty Cameron may be put away to hibernate!

Yeah, nice Mettam teamwork on the 14th green there. Your son had me flummoxed with how to play that putt
Mr. Cameron's finest has already taken its place back in the cupboard.
Back to the old new Odyssey tomorrow![]()
