Granto's Predictions: There are lies, damned lies and Granto's predictions.
Well, last week I managed to prove I know Jack Diddly about the LPGA. Damn those Korean ladies are strong!

Anyway, undetterd by my almost total lack of ability when it comes to picking winners, here's some more for you to mull over....or not.

The Defender: Louis Oosthuizen
Hasn't done a whole lot since winning this title last year other than buying a tractor for his farm back in S.A. Although, at least about 15% of golf fans now know how to pronounce his name properly. [West-ha-zen not Oooosthoooozen ] Louis' a very laid back guy so I don't think he'll let the pressure of being the defender get to him as most eyes will be on other big names.
Prediction: Top 20. A solid defense to his title but probably not challenging for the win.

The Contenders:
Top Euro's: Rory, Luke & Lee: Top 3 favourites and all likely to be on the leaderboard come Sunday.
Top American challenge: Nick Watney, Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker
All these guys are on form right now so in with a chance.
Other: Jason Day
Fast becoming a regular feature on Major leaderboards and another young golfer already tipped to bag a major eventually.

Dark Horse: The last time, the Open was held at Royal St.George's, Ben Curtis came from nowhere (literally) to win the title I'm going with Frederik Jacobson. Won his first PGA title recently and is a real fighter. Had a good showing in the US Open which could've been a lot better but for a 4-putt on one of his last holes.
Prediction: Top 5

The Champion: I'm not saying as he'll be my captains pick.

I really fancy Garcia, but he wont be in my team. He has been playing really well recently and I hope he continues to play well.

Team is picked, really looking forward to the Open.

Garcia is in my team for sure. No more space for shit in his pants so he will step up!

I guess we need some rules officials at Golfjins main events.

Think I will be luck to get any points this time round. Only 3 made the cut and none of them are doing well.

Makes me wonder how they have any members at Royal St. George's- hardly my idea of a fun day out playing golf.
