Granto's predictions: After another stellar week of predictions at the Crowne Plaza Invitational, here's more tripe for you to mull over.

The Defender: Simon Khan
Came out of nowhere last year and shot 6 under on the final day to win Europe's flagship event. Current form - missed the cut in his last 4 starts.
Prediction: Early bath

The Contenders: All of the European tours top players will be playing in this event.
On form: (Many!) Westwood, Donald, McDowell, Schwartzel and Poulter to name but a few.

Dark horse: Nicolas Colsaerts
This guy's been in and out of qualifying school a few times but seems to have finally gotten comfortable playing in big events. Notched up his maiden victory at the Volvo China Open in April and narrowly missed out on a place in last weeks Volvo World Matchplay final. He's a big hitter so well suited to the new look Wentworth course. Although, maybe he likes Volvo's and won't be up for this BMW sponsored event.

Winner: Luke Donald
Finished tied for 2nd in this event last year and is the man on form right now. A very impressive 13 top 10's out of his last 14 starts.

For a bargain bin pick, Monty's certainly getting off to a great start!

Problem is Monty does not have 4 good rounds in him

I can't believe it!

I looked at this competition a few days ago and realized it would be wet and windy, so I planned accordingly. I put Mcdowell in my team, a links player who must be used to these conditions coming from NI. Him and Mcilroy are +4 and +5, respectively. I also have P. Lawrie, a Scot who should be used to these conditions, he managed to get an 8 on one par 4 and is +3.

At least Manessero and Donald are making me

I'm sticking with my same team from three weeks back at the Players, i.e. missed the deadline again.

Some geezer named Luke Donald and some Italian kid called Matteo are taking aim for The Heroes.

The rest are across the pond on sabbatical.

I still expect to come out on top though...
