NEW for FLIV: Granto's Predictions
Each gameweek I'll be sharing some of my expertise on who the winners and losers will be
Winner: A European
European golf is on a high right now so expect one of the big Euro guns to take the title. Watch out for Kaymer & McDowell
Tiger-watch: Over the last couple of weeks he's been threatening to make it on the leaderboard but I think his game's still a shambles and he'll be an also ran this year (again)
Don't agree? Vote in the poll at the top of this page
The Defender:
Big Phil has a great record at Augusta but I don't think he's gonna do much this year. Prediction 11th-20th.
The Contenders:
US: Nick Watney, Matt Kuchar & Bubba Watson
Euro: Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell & Luke Donald
Prediction: These chaps will be on the leaderboard come Sunday.
Dark horses:
Charl Schwartzel (S.A) - Probably the best of a strong bunch of young guns coming out of South Africa.
Martin Laird (Scotland) - Scotlands best (only?) top player right now and on form after a solid win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Surprises:
Sergio Garcia: He's getting his mojo back and I can see him sneaking on the leaderboard this year albeit not a serious contender for the title.
Prediction: Top 20 finish
Shockers:
Paul Casey: Casey has the talent but you never know what you're gonna get with him. Early bath prediction...![]()

I see a European winning it (cant say who due to FL). I just think that they have the game at the moment. Bubba and DJ are not reliable enough - though I do like watching them. Kuchar and Watney are strong contenders.
Tiger/Phil - one of them may turn up, but not sure they will win. Phil's win last year was down to some amazing shots - not sure he can repeat that again.
not real comfortable posting my thoughts as people will be looking to copy them after season III results, but my team is basically set. pretty international with only one american in there...not tiger or phil though. his form doesn't make say pick him but i think tiger will squeeze himself into the mix somehow on the weekend. still, i won't be picking him for a while.
the new player prices have mixed things up though, there are some bargains there....
yeah, it doesnt make for exciting banter hiding our teams does it!
none of my team have won a major, that's one issue, but im looking to strong performances from kj choi, matt kuchar & watney, rory sabatini. and aaron baddely as well i think is set for a strong showing this year after getting his game back in order. a steal at $750,000. wanna keep a place for ishikawa too after hearing of his pledge. i hope he can play well. i'd like to sneak luke donald into my team i think he's ready for a major.
as for the other big names, i'm sure some of them will be up there though they've been a bit hot and cold lately. what's with mcdowell?
there you have em anyway, woy woys winners in augusta.![]()
Yeah, a big thumbs for Ishikawa and his very generous pledge.
Although, coverage of him will get even more ridiculous now on Japanese Golf programs....
Knew you were gonna pick Sabbatini.....![]()

I am watching the houston open for some form tips.
I am quite worried that Westwood has a new putter - not a good sign as he is a normally a captains pick for me (his irons were excellent yesterday though). Kim is flying and he did well last year (he was in my team) at Augusta and I lke his style. Donald is a good shout but expensive and I also like Mcdowell, but his form is a worry. Padraig did well today and could be a good bet.
I will have at least one American in my team, who has the game for Augusta, but is also cheap. He did quite well last year.
I might just use 4 players, so that I can avoid the no-hopers as not making the cut means dropping points.

So, we have 21 managers for FL IV
Lots of veterans and welcome to all the newbies![]()
And we're off!
I'm thinking this is the year Sandy Lyle makes his comeback.
Just did a quick check of the teams now that the deadline for changes has passed.
Lots of variety in the teams although there are few popular picks (Mickelson, Watney, McIlroy and Laird etc.)
Only a couple of people brave (or smart) enough to pick Tiger.
And a couple of managers shopping in the bargain bin for good old Sandy Lyle

Anybody suggest a good link to watch the Masters in English??

On the internet? You can try some of the links here for English stations:
MyP2P.eu :: PGA Tour - Masters Tournament 2011
A bit hit & miss but you can sometimes get a good stream.
TBS will show it on Japanese TV but it'll be the Tiger & Ryo show which as I'm sure you know can get a tad grating after a while.....
Anyone make Harrington their captain?
Nice selection
Edit: Kaymer 6+
And McIlroy on a stormer today!

How about Stenson?
Wow! What a finish! Painful to watch McIlroy's implosion but well done to Schwartzel
I'll update the FL points around lunchtime.
Unfortunate for McIlroy and great for Schwartl, winning on the 50th anniversary of Gary Player's first Masters win.
I think McIlroy might have played better with Jason Day or even Schwartzl, what I noticed was that playing with Cabrera, who is a very fast player, McIlroy was finding it difficult to keep his own rhythm. But as a fellow Irishman I am biased and don't want to think that he just faded under the pressure.
Also congrats to Adam Scott and Jason Day for their fine performance, maybe Australia with get a Masters champion soon.
Spike![]()
I've updated the Round 1 results but have just discovered a bug that I hadn't encountered before.
These 5 teams are in their own private league as well as the main league:
Slice & Dice
A-Hole in One
Tokyo Troublemakers
Sharkteeth
Tokyo Fade
However, the system is doubling their points for some reason. For example,
Slice & Dice are showing 1000 points (!) but only scored 500.
We'll get this fixed asap and I'll let you know when it's done.
Round 1 Leader is Lefty's with 950 points![]()
