Thread: Golf in OZ

G,day all from Sydney, last week had the pleasure of taking James out to one of my local courses < took Chris here as 1 of the 2 that we played together , although entirely different conditions >James had a sensational
summers morning whereas Chris played through a howling southerly wind.
I think James will post a couple of pics and a review, the course is called The Coast, and is 10mins from home , cost for a game in the comp off the championship tees was about 2,500 yen, so anytime anyone is in Sydney and wants a game just send me message and I will arrange it.
Will be interested to hear the 2 differing opinions from the boys as it was like playing 2 different courses, you can check out the web site at the coast golf.com.au if interested.

Hows things? Below is my quick little review of the course.

Despite the windy conditions, and the locals all telling me that it was normal that day, I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Especially like the hole when you have to hit over a chasm with the wind blowing straight in from the left.....basically had to aim out of the Pacific Ocean to allow for the wind and my "power fade"!

Some of the tees box locations (mainly championship tees) that we werent allowed to hit off that day were absolutely bonkers! One in particular was a walk out along a rocky path to some off in the distance green grass on the edge of a cliff. Unfortunately as it was in direct view of the clubhouse and pro shop we couldnt sneak on to it. Would love to play there again, hopefully on one of those "unusual" days when the wind isnt blowing a gale.

One tip I'll give to anyone else who plays there, make sure you get a Cart that has enough charge to get around the full 18 holes! Ours started running out of juice on the 15th and finally died near the green on the 17th. We walked the final hole where Brett then politely told the guy in the pro-shop that the cart ran out of juice and was safely parked on the path near the green to which he replied "well, you could have called me from the 17th mate". The nerve!
