Granto's Predictions: About the only thing I'm confident of predicting right now is that these predictions won't be up to much. Large pinch of salt required....

The Contenders:
Graeme McDowell - After a strong finish in Abu Dhabi last week, I think the G-Mac might be back! I can see him doing well this week.
Sergio Garcia - Sergio recorded back to back wins towards the end of last season and definitely seems to have his mojo back.
Thomas Bjorn - Kicked off a stellar 2011 with victory here last year and already on form again this season. Expect the fiery Dane to be challenging come Sunday.

Lee Westwood - Lee's the bookies favourite for this tournament and I'm sure he'll do well but doesn't seem to be in winning form yet.
Matteo Manassero - After a pretty quiet end to 2011 seems to be getting his form back. A worthwhile pick fir sure.
Notable addition to the field: Hunter Mahan - Another American making a trip over to the Middle East for some hard-earned appearance money. And I bet you miss the cut.

The Champion: Paul Lawrie - The tempestuous Scot came pretty close in Abu Dhabi last week and I reckon he's got a couple more wins in him before he completely retires to the commentary box.
